Story
The idea for this demo was thought by Corsario. He and Liso were working at a mental illness treatments department at university, and felt a bit stressed with all of that, so they needed to express their feelings somehow: making a demo!
One day we were having lunch at the university’s canteen and Corsario explained us his plan. We would make a demo about the agony of a patient, about phobias and all of the possible mental illnesses that one could think of. It would perfectly fit with tlotb’s agonic style (see hysteria for more information and a good example), and also would allow us three (liso, corsario and me) to present ourselves as the new members of the group, as we had just joined it.
Making of
The design
Corsario and Liso knew exactly what they wanted to show in the demo, so they had a list of the scenarios which were going to be shown, and they explained it both to the 3d graphician, Antarex and the musician, Sole.
Antarex modelled and textured lots of objects for the demo (although most of them can’t be appreciated) in a record time!
Music
The music was a bit more complicated, as the story had lots of changes and situations, and there was so much to show without incurring in a tooooo long song which could lead to angry coders and bored audience.
So Sole did several versions of the song, showing them to the others to see if they fit or not in their idea. At the end, Liso spent most of the time singing the song (or more exactly, his own free interpretation of the song).
AMB helped us in a desperate moment when we couldn’t find a gun shot sound, while we were at the party, some hours before the deadline, and provided us with that precious sample, which Wally integrated, as well as extending a bit the song because it was decided at the last moment to add a pair more of effects, and they needed more music!
